The wide-cabin high-speed Gulfstream G150 was designed, developed, and certified in a joint effort between Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI) and Gulfstream Aerospace. The Gulfstream G150 lineage began with the Astra 1125, Astra SP, Astra SPX (1986 – 2002) produced by IAI, and then Gulfstream acquired the production line and rebranded the line to the Gulfstream G100. The Astra SPX/Gulfstream 100 had the greatest speed and longest range compared to its competitors but not the cabin comfort needed for a US transcontinental mid-cabin business jet. Accordingly, Gulfstream decided to enlarge the cabin in the G100 from 304 cubic feet to 521 cubic feet in the G150.

A total of 123 Gulfstream G150 aircraft have been manufactured with 119 of them in operation, one retired and 3 in various stages of the completion process including interior installation and exterior paint. Gulfstream Aerospace recently announced it has sold the last Gulfstream G150, marking the end of the mid-size aircraft more than 10-year production run. The final G150 will be delivered to a customer in mid-2017.

The aircraft is powered by two Honeywell TFE731-40R turbofan engines each rated at 19.6kN. The engines are pylon mounted on each side of the rear section of the fuselage. The engine air intakes have a thermal anti-icing system. It can take four passengers up to 3,000 nautical miles at long-range cruising speed. This allows the G150 to transport its passengers extremely quickly over continental distances with ease. It’s can fly farther, faster, and higher than any other aircraft in its class. It is no wonder that the G150 continues to rise in popularity and is continually praised via awards, records, and media recognition.

Its spacious cabin is as comfortable as possible featuring fully-reclinable, ergonomic seating with armrests, work tables, and 11 windows to provide natural lighting. It is FAA certified for Stage 4 noise standards making noise levels more comfortable both for passengers and those outside the aircraft. Its cabin dimensions are 17′ 8″ in length, 5’9″ in width, and 5’9″ in height making it larger and more spacious than both most business jets and most jets in its category.
The comfortable interior cabin is not just exclusive to passengers. The interior design styles are based on the operator’s selection of leathers, upholstery fabrics, wood finishes, and floor coverings.
The cabin is fitted with a Honeywell environmental control system and is pressurized to a differential of 0.61bar using engine bleed air.
The aircraft is equipped with a Rockwell Collins Pro Line21 integrated avionics suite. The flight deck accommodates two crew members and is fitted with a Rockwell Collins EFD-4077 electronic flight information system which provides data to the four 18.4cm display screens.
The dual UNS-1C flight management systems have an integrated global positioning system and Rockwell Collins FCC-4005 autopilot. The navigation systems include dual AHC-85E attitude and heading reference systems, ADC-850C air data systems, VIR-432 navigation markers, DME-442 distance measuring equipment, single automatic direction finder ADF-462, an ALT-55B radio altimeter, a terrain collision avoidance system TCAS-94, a Honeywell EGPWS electronic ground proximity warning system, and a TWR-850 color weather radar.
